 Alan Jackson's debut album, "Here in the Real World", issued in 1990 and became a platinum-selling hit on the strength of four Top Five hits: the title cut, "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow." Alan Jackson continues to top the music charts with a chart cross-over hit "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," a tribute to the aftermath of September 11th and full-length CD "Drive," containing anotAlan Jackson number one hit, "Drive For Daddy Gene," a tribute to Jackson's late father. Consistency is his trademark -- Alan Jackson penned many of his own hits. Alan Jackson projects a modest, wholesome, down-to-earth image that has made Alan Jackson one of the best-liked stars of his era. In the first 12 years of his career, Jackson has an astounding 20 number one singles and 20 more Top Ten hits. Jackson was born in the small town of Newnan, GA, on October 17, 1958. Alan Jackson grew up singing gospel music, both in church and at home with his family, and as a teenager performed locally as part of a country duo. Alan Jackson left school to work and married his high-school sweetheart, Denise. During the early '80s, Jackson held down a series of odd jobs while playing the local club circuit with his band, Dixie Steel, and working on his songwriting. In 1989, Jackson became the first artist signed to Arista's new country division.
