Beach Boys

The Beach Boys were formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961 with Brian Wilson, his brothers Carl and Dennis, their cousin Mike Love and school friend Al Jardine. The Beach Boys' early material focused on the California youth lifestyle and used amazing harmonies and vocals in their hits singles, "All Summer Long", "Fun, Fun, Fun", "Little Deuce Coupe", "Surfin' U.S.A." and "Surfin' Safari" to name a few. Throughout the 1960s, the band continued to press the envelope with innovation and sophisticated song. They released "California Girls" in 1965 and followed it in 1966 with the acclaimed LP Pet Sounds and its singles "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "Caroline, No," and "God Only Knows". The Beach Boys most famous song, "Good Vibrations," is considered to be one of the best rock singles of all time. The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, the same year they released their last studio album, Still Cruisin', with the hit single "Kokomo".
