Kid Rock
Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, was born on January 17, 1971 in Romeo, Michigan.   He derives his name from his early years of rapping in parking lots and bars.  People in the audience would say, "Look at that white kid rock."  Kid Rock combines together  hard rock, rap and even country.  He began his hip-hop career at the age of 15 in Michigan and then moved to New York City, where he landed a tour deal with Ice Cube and Too Short when he was 18 years old.  His first album, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, was released in 1989.  Kid Rock's first success came in 1998 when he released the 11 times platinum album, Devil Without a Cause for Atlantic Records.  He released History of Rock in 2000, followed by Cocky in 2001, in which he incorporated country music to the displeasure of fans.  Kid Rock gained country music noteriety with "Picture", a duet with Sheryl Crow, his rendition of "Luckenbach, Texas" on the Waylon Jennings tribute album and his appearance with Hank Williams Jr. on CMT's Crossroads.  In 2002, Kid Rock released a cover of ZZ Top's "Legs" for the WWE's SmackDown and in 2003 released a self titled album featuring a cover of Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love".
