The Lion King

The Lion King is a spectacular visual feast adapted from one of Disney's much-loved films and transports you to a dazzling world that explodes with glorious colors, stunning effects and enchanting music. Giraffes strut, birds swoop and gazelles leap as this Disney Theatrical production takes you on an adventure into another world. Directed by Julie Taymore, The Lion King features actors in animal costumes as well as giant, hollow puppets. The stage show first opened on July 31, 1997 in Minneapolis at the Orpheum Theatre, and was an instant and tremendous success, moving permanently to the New Amsterdam Theater on Broadway in New York that October.
